Three health summits have been held in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Health summits were hosted at the Riverside University Health Systems and San Antonio Regional Hospital. IEHLC led the Latino Health Summit to shed light on the current epidemic of chronic diseases that affect the Latino community, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer and mental health issues.

Too many in our communities fall victim to these, with the lamentable aspect of the fact that many of these chronic health issues are preventable through proper preventable health treatment and education. IEHLC believes that through education on prevention and awareness, a change toward a better healthier future, can be achieved.

The Summits include regional health experts that conduct meaningful conversation with participants. Their expert overview within the healthcare landscape as well as challenges affecting our community, bring to light, opportunities to make a positive impact.
