The Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Council (IEHLC) participated in the 2016 and 2017 Annual NACo conference (National Association of County Officials) in Washington D.C. The Council’s mission was to discuss relevant and imperative topics to Hispanic residents of the Inland Empire. The Affordable Care Act and Immigration Reform were the main topics of concern.

Throughout this informational conference, the council met with many influential leaders and legislators such as: Alma Acosta, Chief Executive Officer Congressional Hispanic Caucus; Congressman Pete Aguilar; Brandon White, Legislative Assistant to Congressman Paul Cook; Congressman Mark Takano; Congressman Ken Calvert; and Congresswoman Judy Chu.
