Dennis Gutierrez joined Supervisor Marion Ashley’s team in July, 2014 as a Legislative Assistant. Dennis’ previous experience includes 21 years with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as the sheriff department’s public information officer for two Sheriffs. During his tenure with the sheriff’s department, he oversaw the Media Information Bureau. During his tenure of the M.I.B., his unit received the department’s “Distinguished Service” Award for excellence.  He also served as Riverside County Sheriff’s Department first “Hispanic Outreach” Liaison with distinction.

Dennis was very active in the Riverside Sheriff’s Association where he served as a patrol station representative, treasurer, and vice-president of the organization. Prior to his involvement with Riverside County, he also served our nation in the armed forces in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 1 st  of the 509 th  ABN in Vicenza, Italy. Dennis’ duties and responsibilities for issues within the 5th District are to include, but not limited to, issues and concerns with Public Safety, Labor Relations, Veteran Services, Hispanic Outreach, Community Groups and Special Projects.
